Kenneth and Peggy Monroe left a $3 million bequest to Westmont hoping the funds would “live on in the life of the college.” To honor the legacy of the former professor, trustee and interim president, Ƶ has named full-tuition scholarship recipients Monroe Scholars. “These students have a special responsibility to carry on the college’s heritage,” says Provost Shirley Mullen. “The Monroes modeled a love for learning, sacrificed for Ƶ and believed that their Christian calling extended beyond campus to the community.”
