Fall Choral Festival to Harmonize on Friday

ذكذكتسئµâ€™s annual Fall Choral Festival, featuring about 125 students from five California high school choirs, returns for a live performance Friday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. in Hahn Hall at the . The concert is free and open to the public. Due to Covid-19 we are asking all guests RSVP here in advance . 

Participating choirs receive coaching from one of our choral faculty and get to perform for one another in a collegial and supportive environment. “I always look forward to meeting the young musicians who visit us and being able to share with them our music and beautiful campus,â€‌ says Daniel Gee, director of the ذكذكتسئµ Choir.

The college choir will perform two choral works in Spanish, “Arroz con Lecheâ€‌ by Argentine composer Carlos Guastavino, a traditional children's song turned into a contrapuntal fugue; and “Cloudburstâ€‌ by American composer Eric Whitacre, who adapts the poetry of Octavio Paz to depict a powerful desert cloudburst.

The high schools include Fresno Christian, Redlands Adventist Academy, The Thacher School, Calvary Chapel Christian School of Downey and Rosemead High School.
