The ������Ƶ jazz band, choir and three combos will perform the best of their work at the Jazz Ensemble Concert, 8 p.m. Nov. 21 in Deane Chapel.

For the first time, professor Ron McCarley is playing lead alto in the 14-member band. This is also the first concert to include a jazz choir. The choir will be directed by music professor Steve Hodson.

“The concert will include two pieces by Ellington, two by Herbie Hancock and various other pieces” McCarley said. “The band, jazz choir and three combos will perform a “jazz sampler” of pieces from standards to post-be-bop,” McCarley said. Admission is free.
