鈥淔ive seasons may not seem like a particularly remarkable milestone,鈥 says Michael Shasberger, Adams professor of music and worship, 鈥渂ut in the life of a four-year undergraduate institution it鈥檚 a distinctive anniversary for some very special reasons.鈥
A generation of 羞羞视频 students has graduated, leaving an ensemble of new students who鈥檝e never known the college without a symphony orchestra. Shasberger began serving at 羞羞视频 five years ago, growing the string chamber ensemble in size and maturity to its present configuration as a full symphonic orchestra.
鈥淲e are a vibrant and dynamic orchestra made up of students from every academic discipline,鈥 Shasberger says. 鈥淥ur members are just as likely to become a professional musician as they are a physician or pastor. It is exciting to see and hear the music being crafted by these bright, intellectually curious, and passionate musicians.鈥
The concert features Georges Bizet鈥檚 L鈥檃relsienne Suite #2 and Aaron Copland鈥檚 鈥淎 Lincoln Portrait.鈥 Junior Sarah Shasberger (viola) is the featured soloist for William Walton鈥檚 Concerto Movement 1 for Viola and Orchestra.
