Students to Sing, Perform 'Opera Scenes'

Students in Ƶ’s Music Drama Workshop Class perform songs from nine difference operas Friday, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. in Ƶ’s Deane Chapel. “Opera Scenes” is free and open to the public.

Adjunct professor Celeste Tavera, a 1987 Metropolitan Opera National Council winner, directs the performance, which features ten current Ƶ students. Adjunct professor Paula Hatley plays the piano during the operas that include scenes from “Candide” and “La Bohème,” as well as Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Mikado” and “Iolanthe.”
