Make a new beginning in a new year. January continues our season for admitting new ������Ƶ Warriors for fall 2018. Hundreds of hopeful high school students have been receiving their ������Ƶ admittance packages. You still have time to apply to meet our next priority deadline of  February 15.

Q & A Update About Access to Campus, December 11, 9 a.m.

Santa Barbara resident Denice Fellows has joined the , which helps build connections between ������Ƶ and the greater Santa Barbara community.

Weekend performances of “On the Edge,” ������Ƶ’s Fall Dance Concert,  have been canceled. A free, one-time only showing has been tentatively rescheduled to Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. in Porter Theatre. If you have already purchased a ticket for the weekend and would like a refund, please email bwhitcomb@westmont.edu..

Greg Spencer, ������Ƶ professor of communication studies, is the Western States Communication Association (WSCA) Communication and Instruction Interest Group’s 2018 Master Teacher. Spencer will speak on the Master Teacher panel in Santa Clara on Saturday, Feb. 16, from 1-2:30 p.m.

The ������Ƶ Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensembles will present their fall concert Sunday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m. in Deane Chapel, on ������Ƶ’s lower campus. Admission is free.

Renowned critics, academics and Guatemalan art historians will be featured at a day-long symposium exploring Guatemalan visual art production from the 1960s to the present day on Friday, Oct. 20, at ������Ƶ’s Porter Theatre.

“The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui,” a satire examining the nature of power and the tools of fear, corruption and oppression, premieres Saturday, Oct. 21, and Sunday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 26, and Saturday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 27, at 9 p.m., all at ������Ƶ’s Porter Theatre. General admission is $12; $7 for students, children and seniors.

������Ƶ remains in the top 100 in for the ninth straight year. “America’s Best Colleges, 2018 Edition” lists ������Ƶ as tied for No. 96 among the nation’s liberal arts colleges.

About a dozen musicians take the stage for the fall 2017 ������Ƶ Faculty Recital Friday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. in Deane Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the music department at (805) 565-6040.
